Ask a question

Ask is the conversational analytics panel in the AI Dashboard.

Type a question about your agency in ordinary language. Projetex answers in writing and shows which internal reports or tools it used to build the answer.

Ask is available to the same users as the AI Dashboard: Administrators and Advanced users.

Ask works with totals, summaries, and short filtered business lists supplied through the Projetex API.

It does not:

  • read your documents or business files;
  • receive direct database access;
  • create, edit, or delete Projetex records.

The feature is read-only.

Before the first question on a workstation, Projetex explains what can leave the machine and asks for consent.

If you decline, the question is not sent. The rest of Projetex and the non-AI dashboard panels continue to work.

  1. Enter a question in the Ask box.
  2. Select Ask.
  3. Wait for the written answer.
  4. Review Tools used below the answer to see which Projetex reports contributed to it.

You can cancel a question that is still running. You can continue working elsewhere in Projetex while Ask works.

Ask keeps the current conversation so a new question can refer to the previous answer.

For example:

  1. Ask: Which clients pay slowest?
  2. Follow up: And how much do they owe?

Select New chat when you want to start a separate topic.

Changing the global date filter starts a new conversation automatically.

When an answer is based on comparable figures, Projetex can draw a chart from those figures.

The chart values come from data already returned by Projetex reports. Changing the chart type does not send another AI request or consume additional allowance.

Not every answer needs a chart. A short answer or a single headline number can appear as text only.

Licensed installations include a monthly AI allowance measured in Langpoints. The Ask panel shows the remaining balance and reset date.

Different questions can consume different amounts because some require more reports or analysis than others.

Using the allowance does not affect the rest of Projetex. When the monthly allowance is exhausted, the normal application and dashboard panels continue to work.

Useful examples include:

  • Which clients pay slowest relative to their terms?
  • How much finished work has not been invoiced?
  • Which clients have gone quiet?
  • Which projects have weak or negative margin?
  • What work is overdue or unassigned and due soon?
  • Which invoices for a specific client are overdue?

Ask is designed for questions about your Projetex business data, not as a general-purpose assistant.
